ABSTRACT

We test the hedge property of non-fungible token (NFT) coins against equity market fluctuations and compare it with the hedge property of Bitcoin. We employ daily the returns of Bitcoin;three NFT coins, namely Theta, Enjin Coin and Decentraland, and three equity market indices: S&P 500, NASDAQ and CAC 40, ranging from 18 January 2018 to 12 January 2021. We estimate the hedge effectiveness of the three NFT coins and Bitcoin against stock market fluctuations. Our results suggest that NFT coins are a better hedge against equity market fluctuations than Bitcoin.

ABSTRACT

During the current COVID-19 epidemic, everyone needs to take measures, which include wearing a mask, keeping their distance, washing their hands, and avoiding touching anything unless it is absolutely necessary. They typically have a key housing and a key saddle to open ordinary doors. The body temperature sensor-equipped automatic door control system is a prototype designed to stop the spread of COVID-19, which is disseminated through droplets attached to traditional doorknobs, by minimising direct physical contact. In this paper, a temperature controlled door access system using Lab view and arduino is is proposed. LM35 connected to arduino is used for sensing the temperature. The software simulation of the system is done in Lab view, which is then interfaced with Arduino Uno. Further, the system consist of a relay and an LED to indicate whether the door access is granted or not. If a person's body temperature is detected as a value within the normal body temperature range, then LED light appears and relay is activated. This results in opening of the door lock attached with the relay. If a person's body temperature is sensed as a value greater than the normal body temperature range, then LED remains OFF. The system is designed to be placed outside institutions and malls where a person is allowed inside only if his/her body temperature is normal. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

For patients to receive good care, doctors must be present. To administer medication or provide treatment, he can't be everywhere at once. If we regularly examine our health, we may be able to identify certain illnesses by spotting them early on. Because of coronary syndromes, many people have died. Doctors are unable to see patients in person until the condition is serious, especially during this period (the Corona virus phase). Because of this, a system to measure pulse rate has been devised in this work. Pulse detection is a straightforward but crucial aspect of keeping track of a patient's health. The hardware used in this research investigates the implementation of a pulse sensor utilising the Arduino development platform and an infrared sensor module created for the Arduino development board. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The coronavirus is a novel disease affected across the world. The symptoms are cold and fever. It was invented in December 2019 by China and is denoted as Covid-19 by World Health Organization (WHO). This disease affected not only humans but also influenced the stock market and an economic crisis across the world. About 3% effect on the global economy, it was comparatively higher than 2008-09. 1.2% and 2.8% were affected by middle Asia and the middle east during 2019-20. The oil export and import countries were affected by about 4.2% and 0.7% (IMF, 2020). The stock market is one of the barometers for Post Covid-19 status measurement. The study aims to analyze the infected cases, investigate the stock market indices in BRICS Nations, and find the relations between infected situations and the stock market of BRICS Nations. This study uses secondary data from the official websites of the World Health Organization, Dashboard from January 2021-June 2022. Using Multi Regression analysis in the five nations were infected and death cases and stock market indices. This study will be helpful in the present situation, and investors will decide to diversify funds in the profitable sector to accelerate their wealth. ABSTRACT

Face Recognition is a deeply studied and researched domain. There are quite large solutions and model architectures to tackle majority of the face recognition related concerns. In this work we come up with a more specific version of face recognition which can mainly be used to achieve long distance and natural limitations of CCTV identification in real world scenarios using existing methods to better modifications. The solution which paper proposes using deep learning can be used to recognise a person even if they wear face masks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One-shot learning is incorporated which can be used to train the specific model with just one image per person of the individual to be recognized. The designed model is modified from Siamese network architecture trained in triplet loss function to achieve these requirements. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The novel coronavirus is respiratory infections affected as cold and fever. The World Health Organization denoted as "coronavirus disease 2019" (COVID-19). China was the first country invented in December 2019. This disease affects the health of humans but also influencing financial markets harshly affected across the globe. In April 2020, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected the severity of Covid-19 crossways the world affected by 3% this was higher than the 2008-09 financial crises. The Middle East and Central Asia region expressed that the growth of an economy decreased from 1.2% to 2.8% during 2019-20. In the same way, the oil import and export countries were affected by 4.2% and 0.7% correspondingly (IMF, 2020). The stock market is one of the barometers exposed to the economic status of the country. Due to Covid-19, the economic and social impact on BRICS countries were rigorously affected the manufacturing, services, education, health, hotels, real estate, hospitality tours and travel, media, IT, retails, and banking sector (M. Chaudhary, P.R. Sodani, S. Das, 2020). Last year, the worldwide stock markets crashed due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. This study mainly focuses on investigating the impact of socioeconomic resources during COVID-19 on BRICS Nations;to analyze the performance of stock indices and its relation with the Covid-19 infected and death cases of BRICS nations. This study is empirical from official stock exchanges of respective countries in the pandemic situation on the stock market from January 2020-August 2021. The Covid-19 number of cases and their deaths are from the official website of the World Health Organization, Dashboard. Finally, to find out the relationship between the numbers of infected and deaths influencing the stock markets in BRICS Nations. This study finds the present situation based on that will further decisions for diversification of funds for getting benefits in the future especially post BRICS formation.

ABSTRACT

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing global health care challenge. Upto 1/3rd of hospitalised patients develop severe pulmonary complications and ARDS. Our study aims to evaluate the pulmonary function in COVID-19 pneumonia patients at 6 months follow up. Methods: Prospective cohort study in 30 hospitalised patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia;belonging to mild, moderated, severe categories - 6 months after discharge. The study consists of assessing the pulmonary function with pre and post bronchodilator spirometry and 6-minute walking test for post exercise desaturation. Results: Lung function test results showed 27% patients had a normal FEV1/FVC ratio with reduction in FVC (forced vital capacity). The mean basal saturation before the 6-MWT was 96+ or - 2%. Exercise oxygen desaturation was observed in 6% cases. Conclusion: This study shows that post infection with SARS-CoV-2, severe or critical covid-19 pneumonia patients showed higher prevalence of abnormal spirometry , with a mainly restrictive pattern when compared to non severe pneumonia patients.

ABSTRACT

The beginning of Coronavirus spread in humans started during December of 2019 in Wuhan, China leading to its extension throughout the world by March 2020. INDIA is the third-largest infected country in the world and the infection is increasing exponentially day by day. There needs to be a full-stack algorithm to Detect, Predict and identify the spread of COVID-19, which will play a vital role in minimizing the fatalities. Already multiple algorithms like Support Vector Regression (SVR) Polynomial Regression (PR) Deep Learning regression models are used widely for predicting the COVID-19 spread. These algorithms are based on Neural Networks and work efficiently. They also do have limitations related to the time taken for identification, detection, and prediction at the early stage of the spread, as they lack the necessary feature. The paper proposes a total idiot proof model dependent on AI to do early identification of the COVID-19 spread. The proposed half breed model depends on novel neglected calculations utilized in Covid-19 examination. The exploratory outcome on the plague information of a few normal regions and urban communities in India shows that 25% of the people with Covid-19 have a higher disease rate inside the single day after they were tainted. The proposed AI-based cross breed model can fundamentally decrease the mistakes of the forecast results and predicts the pattern of the pestilence. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

We test the nature of weak form informational efficiency present in the wine market using daily return of LIV-EX 50 index from 1/1/2010 to 12/6/2020. First, weemploy a number of statistical tests including variance ratio tests, tests for linear andnon-linear dependence and Hurst coefficient. The tests are applied on the full datasetand on four non overlapping sub-samples of equal length. The variance ratio tests providea mixed regarding informational efficiency. Evidence of non-linear dependence inthe return series was found. The Hurst coefficient values confirm the presence of longrun persistence in the wine market. Based on the mixed evidence, we test the possibilityof adaptive nature of the wine market. We employ the newly proposed AdaptiveIndex (AI) to quantify the degree of information inefficiency in the wine market atany instance. Our results confirm that wine market is adaptive and periodically shiftsbetween states of efficiency and inefficiency. The wine market is found to be relativelyfree from the Covid-19 induced shock and the safe haven property of wine is thus confirmed. Finally, impact of various macroeconomic and financial events on wine marketefficiency is identified by using AI © 2021 Anoop S Kumar. ABSTRACT

Today, an important social problem for mankind is the proliferation of corona virus (COVID-19) spreading in various countries. This virus outbreaks like an epidemic, transmitted quickly among population due to social interaction with the infected individual. This research focuses on examining virus spreading rate among the individuals accurately. In the proposed work, to analyze the behavior of the virus spreading rate, a probabilistic mathematical model is designed. It consists of three stages namely Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR) and formulated using mean field approximation method. Initially, to limit the virus spreading rate, a threshold value is obtained using reproductive ratio which is derived by performing stability analysis. In addition, to control the virus spreading rate of the individuals, optimization control technique is introduced on both states of the susceptible and infected individual population. It is demonstrated through simulation studies that the optimal control of the susceptible population by the proposed model is achieved in 7 to 11 days whereas the existing models have taken 20 to 45 days. Likewise, for infected population, the optimal control is achieved in 12 to 15 days by the proposed model whereas the existing models take 35 to 50 days. In order to prove the accuracy of the model, a real time Covid-19 data from France country is also demonstrated. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Precision medicines are next-generation medicines that apply logistics to improve the efficacy of therapy, reduce safety issues, and reduce patient non-compliance. In this line, we propose a new concept of combining diagnostics with prophylaxis and token the idea of “prophynostics.” Detection followed by prophylactic therapy can prevent disease occurrence. That is particularly important in the case of situations like preventing COVID-19 viral spreading and seizure prevention in epilepsy. However, efforts to achieve this goal is somewhat elusive. This work reports a device platform for detection, followed by the delivery of nicotine through two different routes. Modeling of the detection of a suitable clinical situation is done by choosing epileptic seizure detection. Subsequently, we designed and developed a vibration dependent detection device for detecting seizure type vibrations. For attaining rapid loading dose in patients, delivery through the sublingual route is planned. For that, appropriate nicotine, aspirin, paracetamol sublingual patch is designed and developed. To achieve prolonged delivery of a sustained dose of nicotine in patients, transdermal delivery is planned. For that, suitable nicotine, aspirin, and paracetamol transdermal patch are designed and developed. The platform possibilities of the delivery systems are demonstrated using drugs from various BCS classification system. The drug release properties of the optimized patches are fitted with different models such as zero order, first order, Higuchi, and Koresmayer-Peppas and optimized the release profile as per requirements. This combined system can overcome issues like addiction possibilities of nicotine while exploring it for prophylaxis. Nicotine proposed to have anti-COVID and antiepileptic properties in addition to the anti-inflammatory properties of NSAID's;for such purpose, this type of device can be developed and used. © (2021) Society for Biomaterials & Artificial Organs #20041820

ABSTRACT

This document highlights the clinical challenges and systematic guidelines, as well as proposals to inform clinical decision-making among physicians and cardiologists for the care of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. These include: (1) appropriateness of invasive procedures during COVID-19 pandemic;(2) screening of all patients;(3) defining patient's risk category;(4) decision on reperfusion strategy;(5) pharmacoinvasive strategy;(6) selective PCI;(7) cath laboratory measures to minimize risk;and (8) protection of healthcare staff. Among these strategies, the pharmacoinvasive approach for STEMI care is the preferred solution in the COVID era because it is the most effective and practical approach to reduce STEMI inflicted morbidity and mortality with enormous limitations in the era of COVID-19. However, PPCI is the most promising gold standard approach for STEMI care. Selective PPCI may be recommended in large anterior wall MI, cardiogenic shock, hemodynamically unstable patients in the setting of malignant arrhythmias and when there are contraindications to thrombolytic therapy.

ABSTRACT

Aims & Objectives: Since it's origin in December 2019 Novel Corona virus infection has behaved in an unprecedented manner. A number of studies had been done so far to find out peculiar characteristics about this disease. However, few studies have shown varied hematological manifestations of this which have been found to have prognostic implications. In this study we aim to assess the hematological parameters of COVID-19 positive cases and in their different clinical categories (mild, moderate and severe). Patients/Materials & Methods: It is an observational study done in Himalayan Institute of medical sciences, Dehradun. (1) Number of cases included were 118 over 3 months duration (July, August, September-2020). (2) The relevant clinical details of all the COVID-19 positive patients such as name, age, UHID were recorded. (3) EDTA sample was run on DXH800 (Beckmencoulter automated analyzer) and all parameters were recorded including the VCS. Inclusion criterion: Patients diagnosed with COVID-19 on Rapid antigentestor RTPCR of all age groups. Exclusioncriterion:Patients with missing hematological parameters. Results: In our study, total number of cases included were 118, out of which 84 (71.18%) were males and 34 (28.81%) were females. Patients above 60 years were 35 (29.6%). The patients were categorized into mild, moderate and severe on the basis of clinical findings and those findings were co-related with the VCS parameters. The significant findings include decreased absolutely mphocytecount in 43.2% cases and absolute eosinopenia in 83.05% of cases, absolute neutrophil count was increased in 44.9% cases and platelet count was reduced in 30.5% of the cases. Discussion & Conclusion: In major number of cases absolute lymphocyte count, absolute eosinophil count and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio was found significant;so it is advised to categorize patients on the basis of clinical findings and related VCS parameters for early COVID-19 testing.
